Tunable filter with selectable bandwidth

By utilizing multiple liquid crystal variable retarders and polarizers, this adjustable filter allows users to switch any wavelength between 420 and 730 nanometers. In addition to wavelength tunability, this filter also allows users to choose three different bandwidth sizes at each wavelength. Choosing a wider bandwidth can increase the overall transmission of broadband light, while narrow spectra can be obtained from broadband light sources through a few wavelengths.
All adjustable optical filters have three componentsOptical head, controller, software used to run tunable filters. This software can be installed and run on any Windows personal computer via USB or serial port using the provided Filter DRIVE software or commands in C++, MatLab, or LabVIEW.
