Dry air passes through the wet film, and the water on the surface of the wet film absorbs heat and evaporates into the air, achieving the purpose of humidification. This process is accompanied by a decrease in the dry bulb temperature of the air and belongs to isentropic humidification (water temperature is equal to the wet bulb temperature of the air). The humidification process does not require energy consumption. 3. Characteristics of Wet Film Humidifiers
1)Self regulating moisture capacity, no condensation phenomenon
Due to the constant saturation efficiency of a certain thickness of wet film, the humidification amount can be self adjusted according to the temperature and humidity changes at the air inlet, without excessive humidification and avoiding condensation.
2)Stable operation and easy maintenance
There are few mechanical operating components, simple structure, stable operation, and easy maintenance.
3)High saturation efficiency
The humidifying medium adopts a unique design structure with a large evaporation area, which can fully contact with the air and evaporate moisture to a large extent, ensuring high saturation efficiency.
4)Clean humidification
Due to the complete vaporization of water molecules, there will be no "white powder" phenomenon, and the unevaporated water can filter and discharge dust and bacteria in the air. When using circulating water, ultraviolet disinfection lamps can be added to the circulating pipeline, or disinfectant can be added to the circulating water tank for safer and cleaner use.
5)Good cooling effect
Therefore, this humidification method is isentropic humidification, which absorbs sensible heat from the air during the evaporation of water, thus having a significant cooling effect and saving energy. For every 1 liter of water evaporated, it can obtain the equivalent cooling capacity of 7 kilograms of melted ice, but the cost is only one tenth of compression refrigeration.

2、 Circulating water wet film humidifier

1The principle of circulating water wet film humidifier Clean tap water enters the circulating water tank through the inlet pipeline, and its high water level is controlled by the inlet switch; When the humidifier is working, the circulating water pump delivers the water in the water tank to the water sprayer at the top of the humidifier. The water sprayer ensures that the water is evenly distributed to the wet film material, and the water penetrates downwards from the top of the wet film material while being absorbed by the wet film material, forming a uniform water film; When dry air passes through a humidifier, a portion of the water comes into contact with the air, vaporizes and evaporates, making the air moist (i.e. increasing humidity); The other part of the water that has not evaporated flows back to the circulating water tank from the lower part of the humidifier; The water in the circulating water tank is repeatedly circulated by the circulating water pump, thereby humidifying the air passing through the wet film. When the water level in the circulating water tank drops, the water inlet switch is turned on to replenish water to the tank, ensuring that the water level in the tank is maintained within the set height range. When the water level in the circulating water tank drops to a certain height, the low water level switch in the tank works to ensure that the circulating water pump stops running in case of water shortage. 4、Calculation and selection of wet film humidifier
1) Select based on humidification capacity
Formula for calculating humidification amount
W=Q · P · 1.2 · (d2-d1) (fresh air)
W=Q · P · 1.2 · fresh air ratio · (d2-d1) (partial fresh air)
In the formula: W: effective humidification capacity (kg/h)
Q: Air conditioning unit air volume m3/h
P: Air capacity 1.2 kg/m3
D1: Moisture content of air before humidification kg/kg (enthalpy and humidity chart to be checked)
D2: Humidity content of humidified air kg/kg (enthalpy and humidity chart to be checked)

A certain working condition: Q=15000 m3/h (fresh air) t1=40 ℃ Φ 1=15% RH before humidification
The size of the surface cooler is 1000mm × 1600mm. After humidification, t2=28 ℃ and Φ 2=50% RH
5.Calculate the humidification amount according to the formula:
W=Q·P·1.2·(d2-d1)
W=15000×1.2×1.2×(0.012-0.007)
=108 kg/h
According to the calculation results, the corresponding wet film thickness in the eighth quick selection table is 200mm.
After selecting the wet film thickness, the head-on wind speed should also be calculated as follows:
V=Q ÷(S×3600)=15000÷(1.6×3600)=2.6m/s
V: Facing wind speed (m/s)
S: Effective area of humidifier (m2)
Note: The head-on wind speed (V) should be ≤ 2.8m/s. If it is>2.8m/s, a water deflector should be installed.
2. Select based on saturation efficiency

The operating conditions are the same as above. Calculate the saturation efficiency according to the formula:

=83%
According to the calculation results, the corresponding wet film thickness in the seventh item of wind resistance and saturation efficiency table is 200mm. After selecting the wet film thickness, the head-on wind speed should also be calculated using the same method as above.
6Module structure of wet film vaporization humidifier
The production of wet film vaporization humidifiers is determined by the size of the heat exchanger area to determine the structure of the module. The module structure of a wet film humidifier is divided into:
Individual module structure; Single layer multi module structure; Multi layer and multi module structure.

7、Precautions for the use and maintenance of wet film humidifiers
1. When using the circulating water supply method, an overflow valve is installed at the water separator. The opening amount of this valve and the water supply metering valve have been adjusted at the factory and cannot be adjusted arbitrarily, otherwise it may shorten the service life of the water pump or cause it to burn out.
2. Regularly clean the filter, water tank, and filter mesh in the water tank, especially the filter mesh in the water tank. If it gets clogged, it may cause the water pump to start frequently, resulting in a shortened or burnt life of the water pump.
3. After several years of use (usually around three years depending on the local water quality), if it is found that the humidification efficiency has decreased and the surface of the wet film has accumulated severe alkali, it can be removed and cleaned with high-pressure water, or contact the manufacturer for professional cleaning services. If using wet film of other materials, replacement may be considered. It can also be used in conjunction with water treatment equipment to extend its service life or cleaning cycle.
