The sheath is an important component in all temperature measurement applications, which can isolate the measurement process from the surrounding environment. It not only protects the environment and personnel, but also separates corrosive, high-pressure, and high flow media from the temperature sensor body, allowing users to replace the thermometer during operation.

The sheath comes in various design styles and materials to meet all application requirements. When selecting a protective sheath, users need to pay attention to two important considerations: the type of process interface and the basic manufacturing method. Normally, we mainly classify sheaths into threaded, welded in, and flange types.

In addition, the sheath can be divided into two types: assembled and integral. The assembled sheath is made of pipe material, and the end is sealed with solid welding. The one-piece sheath is made of processed rod material.
