Commonly used working fluids for U-tube pressure gauges include water, mercury, alcohol, carbon tetrachloride, trifluoromethane, etc The measurement formula is: P=(ρ 1- ρ 2) Hg. In the formula, P is the pressure of the measured medium, which is the pressure in physics ρ 1 is the density of the working fluid. ρ 2 is the density of the measured medium. H is the height difference of the liquid injection. G is the local gravitational acceleration (m/s2), which is generally taken as 9.8 (m/s2).
During use, it should also be noted that the measured pressure must be less than or equal to the upper limit of the measurement range of the U-tube pressure gauge, and attention should be paid to keeping the inner wall of the U-tube pressure gauge and the working fluid clean and pure. When not in use, the rubber hose mouth should be tightly tied or the mouth should be blocked with gauze or cotton to maintain the measurement accuracy of the U-tube pressure gauge
The principle of using a U-shaped pressure gauge: Before the U-shaped pressure gauge is connected to the pressure measuring point, the liquid levels on both sides of the U-shaped glass tube are level at the zero mark. When one end of the U-shaped tube is connected to the pressure measuring point, the liquid level inside the U-shaped tube will change. If the liquid level on the side connected to the pressure measuring point drops, it indicates that the pressure at the pressure measuring point is positive pressure, otherwise it is negative pressure.
According to the magnitude of the measured pressure, the glass tube can be divided into two types: colored water and mercury, and the liquid level should be consistent with the zero point of the scale. It is mainly used for pressure, negative pressure, and differential pressure in coal gas, natural gas, chemical industry, coking, and machinery.
