The design of the Symbol SE4400 imaging scanner engine ensures optimal integration into OEM devices. For the growing applications, it is a good choice, including manufacturing, healthcare, service kiosks, security/identification, tape storage, small commodity identification, and parcel applications.

Its accompanying decoder PL4407 is used to control camera functions and decode all 1D and 2D codes in all directions. PL4407 can be provided as a ball grid array (BGA) component or integrated on a printed circuit board. The SE4400 scanning engine can also be provided as a fixed installation scanner (MS4400) for easier integration and lower engineering costs.
