Depending on the material and its properties, the sensor probe can measure depths ranging from approximately 150mm to 200mm. The total moisture of the product, which includes the core moisture and surface moisture of the material, will be measured and analyzed. Measuring the surface moisture of materials better than optical principles, sometimes the surface moisture is not the true value. Sensors have high penetrability, so the accumulation of dirt on the surface of the material does not affect the measurement.

The change in dielectric constant or relative dielectric constant of each material is an important measurement principle (MuTec high-frequency capacitor). To better understand the working principle, here is a very simple explanation:


The relative dielectric constant of water, ε r=80, is about 1-10 for most other materials. For example, the ε r value of gravel is between 3-4. This means that there is a significant measurable difference in the relative dielectric constant ε r between water (80) and the material being measured (1-10).


Based on this difference, the moisture content of the relevant materials can be directly measured. Then output in the form of a standard signal (0-20mA or 0-1OVDC) with the moisture content of the material as a percentage by mass.

In other words, the more water or moisture is contained in the material, the closer its relative dielectric constant ε r value is to 80.


Online real-time measurement, when the material passes through the sensor, the measured ε r signal can be obtained, even on a fast-moving production line, the measurement of stationary solid materials is also possible.
