The DS-TS1 soil moisture sensor has excellent temperature stability characteristics and a wide working temperature range, and can be installed in harsh environments that other products cannot adapt to. measuring principle

According to the dielectric properties of soil, the apparent dielectric constant of soil mainly depends on its volumetric moisture content. The sensor generates a high-frequency electromagnetic wave of 100MHz, which propagates along the transmission line and forms a standing wave on the transmission line after being reflected by a probe surrounded by soil medium at the end. The voltage of the standing wave changes with the impedance of the probe and the surrounding soil medium. By measuring the voltage difference at both ends of the transmission line, the apparent dielectric constant of the soil can be measured, and the volumetric moisture content of the soil can be determined.
