



Overview of an inclined tube settler
The inclined tube settler can be used as a supporting equipment for water purification processes such as air flotation and biochemical methods, and can also treat various types of wastewater in a single stage. It is mainly used for the treatment of coal mine wastewater, leather, food, printing and dyeing, and chemical wastewater. The COD removal rate is 50-80%, the chromaticity removal rate is 60-90%, and the suspended solids meet the emission standards.
Characteristics of inclined tube settler:
1 Shallow subsidence theory
When the effective volume of the sedimentation tank is constant, the shallower the tank depth, the larger the sedimentation area, and the higher the removal efficiency.
2 Working principle of inclined plate sedimentation tank
The inclined plate sedimentation tank, also known as the shallow sedimentation tank, is set with parallel thin plates tilted at 45 ℃~60 ℃ in the tank. Wastewater flows from below the inclined plates through the channels between the thin plates and flows upward to the side. Suspended solids settle on the inclined plates and automatically slide into the sludge hopper.
Construction of inclined tube sedimentation tank
It consists of an inclined sedimentation zone, an inlet and outlet water zone, a clear water outlet zone, a buffer zone, and a sludge zone. The inclined plate (pipe) forms a 60 ℃ angle with the horizontal plane, and its length is usually around 1.0m. The clear distance between the inclined plate (or pipe aperture) is generally 80-10mm. The water depth of the clear water zone in the upper part of the inclined plate (pipe) zone is 0.7-1.0m, and the height of the bottom buffer layer is 1.0m.
The inclined plate material requires lightweight, thin wall, strong, non-toxic and inexpensive. In China, plastic and fiberglass are commonly used, as well as asbestos cement and asbestos corrugated board, which are coated with resin reinforcement layer to make inclined plates. It can also be made into a honeycomb shaped tube, called a co tube sedimentation tank.

The advantages of the three inclined tube settler
1 Greatly increasing the sedimentation area, resulting in high sedimentation efficiency;
2 The spacing between plates and the upward flow velocity are small, and the wastewater flows in a laminar state, which is conducive to sedimentation.
3 The settling time is short, the volume of the settling tank is greatly reduced, and the footprint is small.
shortcoming
1 Under the same flow rate, due to the short residence time of inclined plate and inclined tube sedimentation tanks, their ability to resist various adverse factors is weak (such as poor resistance to impact loads);
2 The inclined plate and inclined tube sedimentation zone only accounts for 1/2 to 1/3 of the sedimentation tank, and the water flow state is unstable.
3 The inlet area of the inclined plate and inclined tube sedimentation tank accounts for about one-third of the entire tank volume, and the impact of uniform and stable inlet water distribution on the sedimentation tank far exceeds that of this area on the advection sedimentation tank.
