I. Overview
The method of starting with a triangle (Y - △) to reduce voltage:
The inside triangle voltage reduction starting refers to the process of connecting the stator winding into a star shape (Y) when starting an electric motor, in order to reduce the starting voltage and limit the starting current; After the motor starts, connect the stator winding to a triangle (△) to ensure full voltage operation of the motor. Only asynchronous motors with stator windings connected in a triangular (A) configuration during normal operation can use this voltage reduction starting method. When starting the electric motor, it is connected in an inner shape, and the starting current applied to each phase stator winding is 1/3 of that directly using the delta connection. The starting torque is also only 1/30 of that directly using the delta connection for starting

Only applicable for starting under light or no-load conditions. The advantage of S-shaped triangular voltage reduction starting is that the equipment is simple and the price is low, thus it has been widely used. The disadvantage is that it is only used for motors with A-connection during normal operation, with a fixed voltage reduction ratio, and sometimes cannot meet the starting requirements.
1、 Attention should be paid to the following items when starting a triangle:
1. Only motors with a rated voltage of 380V can be started using a delta delta motor.
2. Be careful not to short-circuit the motor wires on the negative load side. U1, V1, W1 should be compared with W2, U2, V2.
3. In case of thermal overload or overcurrent, the machine will be protected and shut down (please check the motor power).
4. The conversion time of the time relay is adjusted appropriately according to the motor operating speed.
