1、 Basic Introduction

VDB1609 is a BLE low-power Bluetooth 4.2 work card suitable for personnel positioningiBeaconIt can broadcast the device information of the beacon itself, such as name, UUID, etc. In terms of application, VDB1609 can be used in indoor positioning systems as a personnel positioning tag. The tag can be located through a BLE Bluetooth positioning gateway or other BLE positioning base stations, allowing for real-time positioning of personnel. The appearance of the work card is shown in the following figure. VDB1609 is divided into those with buttons and those without buttons.

VDB1609 is equipped with a 600mAh rechargeable lithium battery, which can be charged through a magnetic USB cable. VDB1609 is equipped with two LED indicator lights. When the battery is charging, the red indicator light will turn on, and when the button is pressed, the blue indicator light will turn on.

In addition, VDB1609 is equipped with a power button, which can also be used as an SOS alarm and distress button. Short press can activate the SOS signal, long press (>3S) can turn on or off the power of the work card.

3、 Configure iBeacon parameters for mobile app software

Download and install the mobile app. Skylab_xbeacon is a mobile app developed by 95power engineers for configuring the Micro Energy Information series iBeacon beacon. With Skylab_xbeacon, various parameters of VDB1609 can be easily configured.

（1） Parameter configuration of VDB1609 in iBeacon mode

The configuration parameters of the mobile app are shown in the following figure:

MAC: iBeacon's MAC address

Name: The name of the selected iBeacon Bluetooth beacon.

UUID：128-bit identifier according to ISO/IEC11578:1996 standard (32 hexadecimal digits)

Major: 16 bit identifier (0-65535)

Minor: 16 bit identifier (0-65535)

Measured Power: Reference signal strength at a distance of 1 meter (VDB1609 transmission power is 0dBm)

Transmit Power: VDB1609 Transmission Power

Advertisement Interval: VDB1609 Broadcast Interval

Battery Level: VDB1609 Battery Level

Password: VDB1609 Password (default 1234)

After configuring the information, the Bluetooth connection will be disconnected and the configuration will take effect.

The steps for configuring APP parameters in iBeacon mode are as follows:

1. Scan Bluetooth beacon

2. Enter password to connect to Bluetooth beacon

3. Modify the name of the Bluetooth beacon

4. Modify the UUID of iBeacon.

5. Modify the Major and Minor values of the beacon

6. Transmission power, broadcast interval

7. Connection password, default connection password is 1234

（2） Parameter configuration of VDB1609 in Eddystone mode

The configuration of the mobile app is shown in the following figure:

MAC: The Bluetooth MAC address of the device cannot be modified.

Device Name: VDB1609 is the name displayed on the mobile app when scanned by the app (less than 12 English characters in length)

User Service data: User defined data in the broadcast when VDB1609 is scanned.

Transmitting power: VDB1609 transmission power and settings.

Broadcast interval: VDB1609 broadcast interval and configuration

Battery: VDB1609 beacon device's battery level

Password: Change the login password for the device app.

URL: Modify the Frame field information in Eddystone to default to URL format information, which can be selected in other formats by other settings.

Other setting: Format selection for Frame field information in Eddystone.

Select and set the Frame field information format and corresponding information in Eddystone, which can be set to URL, UID, EID, TLM, and other formats,

After the information configuration is completed, the configuration will only take effect after the Bluetooth connection is disconnected.

The configuration steps are as follows:

1. Switch from iBeacon mode to Eddystone mode;

2. Choose to set URL information;

3. Choose to set UID information;

4. Set EID information;

5. Choose to set TLM
