PVC-U pipes are mainly made of sanitary grade polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin, with the addition of appropriate stabilizers, lubricants, fillers, color enhancers, etc. They are extruded by plastic extruders and injection molded by injection molding machines. Through cooling, curing, shaping, inspection, packaging and other processes, the production of pipes and fittings is completed.
The seismic performance of PVC-M pipe, a modified product of PVC pipe products, is comparable to PVC-U, with toughness reaching 5-10 times higher than UPVC without significantly reducing long-term strength, and notch impact strength ≥ 30Mpa (20 ℃), which is more than 3 times higher than UPVC. After the toughness is improved, the sensitivity to damage decreases, and the pipe is less likely to be injured or the degree of injury is greatly reduced, which reduces the impact on long-term strength. Therefore, a safety factor of 1.6 can be used for the design. Although the cost per ton of PVC-M is higher than that of UPVC, due to the low insurance factor and thinner wall thickness, the price per meter is not higher than that of UPVC.
