Product Overview:
BLS450 can measure atmospheric turbulence and heat flux between 100 or 500m~6000m. As part of the meteorological station, it can also be used to determine the evapotranspiration of the expanded area.
The scintillation meter can sense turbulence between the light emitter and receiver. Its working principle is based on the modulation of light by atmospheric refractive index fluctuations. This phenomenon is called scintillation and is also the reason why stars twinkle at night.
Compared with traditional turbulence measurements using point sensors, scintillation meters collect spatially representative results with lower statistical scattering and shorter average time. As a dual ended remote sensing system, the scintillation counter also allows access to terrain such as forests or water without the need to install in-situ sensors.
Unlike other large aperture scintillation meters, the BLS series uses an LED array that can generate a wide emission angle. The wide emission angle actually eliminates the need for transmitter calibration and provides more accurate measurement results. In addition, it is also convenient to use on towers that are prone to vibration.
