Polypropylene resin is a structured crystalline polymer that is a light milky white granular, odorless, non-toxic, and lightweight thermoplastic resin. The relative density is 0.90-0.91, making it the lightest type of resin in general use. Good mechanical properties and heat resistance, with a melting point of around 170 ℃. It does not deform at 150 ℃ under no external force, has good chemical stability, and is resistant to acid, alkali, and organic solvents. It does not react with most chemicals (such as fuming nitric acid, chromic acid solution, halogens, benzene, carbon tetrachloride, chloroform, etc.) and almost does not absorb water. The disadvantage of polypropylene is that it is prone to aging, becomes brittle at low temperatures, and has poor impact strength at low temperatures. However, it can be improved by adding additives, blending, or copolymerization methods.
