Introduction
The instrument involves pouring 350 cm3 of 20-40 mesh sand into a cylindrical transparent drilling fluid cup on a filter without filter paper, followed by 500 cm3 of drilling fluid. The cup cap is tightened, and the pressure is adjusted to 0.69 MPa by connecting the gas source. The release valve is opened, and the gas source enters the drilling fluid cup, marking the start of the measurement. The filtration area of the instrument is 18 ± 0.60cm2. Pressure is provided by gas passing through a regulator. Observe the penetration of drilling fluid through the cup.
Scope of Application
API sand bed permeability test.
Instrument Features
Due to the fact that filter paper is different from geological formations, it cannot fully represent the surface of the wellbore and geological conditions, and therefore has a certain degree of one sidedness. The sand bed filtration method recommended by API can further describe the filtration shape and mud cake properties of non permeable and non-invasive drilling and completion fluid systems, and provide practical guidance for analyzing downhole conditions. The non permeable filtration instrument can accurately and precisely complete the API sand bed test method.
