Detection Principle

The economic total phosphorus analyzer HJ671-2013 "Determination of total phosphorus in water quality - Ammonium molybdate spectrophotometric method" was developed and designed. It uses a closed digestion tube and potassium persulfate as an oxidant to convert all phosphorus containing compounds in the sample into phosphate ions at 125 ℃. Under acidic conditions, orthophosphate reacts with ammonium molybdate and potassium antimony tartrate to form phosphomolybdic acid, which is reduced by the reducing agent ascorbic acid to form a blue complex. The total phosphorus content in the water sample can be directly measured on the instrument by colorimetric method.
