Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) refers to the amount of dissolved oxygen consumed by microorganisms during the decomposition of certain oxidizable substances, especially organic matter, present in water under certain conditions. It is an important quality indicator for measuring the impact of organic matter on water pollution. The ET99724 BOD analyzer launched by Lovibond is used for the determination of BOD in surface water, domestic sewage, and industrial sewage. It is suitable for sewage treatment plants, high-tech biological laboratories, environmental monitoring and analysis centers. Adhere to environmental protection principles and use mercury free measurement. The user-friendly button interface makes instrument operation very easy. The cultivation period can be set by you according to your actual needs (1-28 days). Adopting a magnetic stirring system to ensure the uniformity of the sample during the cultivation process. The instrument has an RS232 data interface, which allows for data transmission without the need for any software installation.
2、 Measurement principle:
The new Lovibond ET99724 (OxiDirect BOD) measurement system has 6 or 12 sensing points and adopts a unique respiration measurement principle. Based on the measurement of oxygen consumption by microorganisms in air or sealed oxygen rich containers (under stable temperature and air flow conditions), the carbon dioxide produced by bacterial metabolism reacts chemically with potassium hydroxide solution in the sealed container, and pressure respiration updates the pressure changes caused by oxygen consumption while maintaining a continuous quantity. The BOD sensor using technology can conveniently and accurately measure BOD, and the BOD value will be displayed directly on the instrument screen in mg/L.
3、 Multiple cycle settings
The BOD value of the sample depends on the content of organic matter. The zu (i) range of ET99724 is 0-4000mg/l, and users can choose the measurement range and corresponding sampling amount according to different water samples. According to experimental requirements, the cycle can be selected within 1-28 days. If the cultivation period is set to 1 day, the data storage interval is 1 hour. If the period is set to 2 days, the data storage interval is 2 hours. If the cultivation period is 3-28 days, the data storage interval is 1 day. The current measured values and stored values can be viewed and retrieved at any time.
4、 RS232 data interface
The Lovibond microcomputer BOD analyzer has an RS232 data transmission interface, which can be easily connected to a computer for data transmission, analysis and processing, and real-time storage and retrieval of data. This feature will simplify and systematize your experimental analysis. Users can intuitively access detailed information, including measurement and storage data, and perform related operations to achieve system recording, analysis, storage, printing, and other purposes.
5、 Magnetic stirring system
The ultra-thin high-performance magnetic stirring system is a microprocessor controlled magnetic stirrer developed for Lovibond technology, which has the characteristics of non wear and maintenance free; The stirring speed of the magnetic stirring rod can be uniformly increased (to the maximum speed of zu (i)) and slowed down, so that the stirring rod leaving the stirring center will quickly return to the stirring center, ensuring the concentration of the stirring rod. The operation of the ultra-thin high-performance magnetic stirring system requires no maintenance (no need to replace the drive conveyor belt or damage the drive engine due to excessive use).
