Precautions
1. Although the disc vacuum filter is a continuous filtration equipment, its operation is intermittent for each filter plate, and it goes through three processes: filtration, drying, and unloading.
2. The time the filter plate is in each working area is not only related to the speed of the filter machine, but also to the angle occupied by each area, which can be adjusted through the distribution head.
3. When filtering, the filtering time experienced by each point on the fan-shaped filter plate is different, depending on the radial position of that point. In Figure 4-2a, the filtering time experienced by point n on the filter plate is the shortest, while point m is the longest. Increasing the number of filter plates on each disc can shorten the time gap between two points, thereby making more rational use of the filter plate area.
4. Due to the non working gaps between each fan-shaped filter plate, in order to reduce the non working area on the return plate, the number of filter plates should not be too many. The most reasonable number of fan-shaped filter plates on each disc is approximately 10, which can generally be selected within the range of 8-16 plates.
