The polypropylene ball ring produced by our company is a new type of filler. It emerged by improving an old major drawback of the Raschig ring. It is to open a rectangular small window on the wall of a regular Rascal ring. The small window blades overlap at the center of the ring. The upper and lower windows overlap with each other. The main difference between it and Raschii ring packing is that it has rectangular windows on the side walls. The window leaves of the window are bent into the center of the ring. Due to the opening of the ring wall, the distribution performance of gas and liquid is greatly improved compared to the Rascal ring, especially the inner surface area of the ring can be fully utilized.


Introduction to Ball Ring Packing:

Bao'er ring packing is a new type of packing that has been improved to address some of the main shortcomings of Raschig rings. It involves opening eight layers of rectangular small windows on the wall of a regular Raschig ring, with the small window blades overlapping at the center of the ring and the upper and lower window positions overlapping each other. The main difference between it and Raschig ring packing is that there are rectangular windows on the side walls, and the window blades of the windows are bent into the center of the ring. At the same processing capacity, pressure reduction can be reduced by half, and mass transfer efficiency can be improved by about 20%. Compared with Raschig ring, this type of packing has the characteristics of high production capacity, strong resistance, and high operational flexibility. In general, when the pressure drop is the same, the pressure drop of Raschig ring is 50% -100% higher than that of Raschig ring, and when the pressure drop is the same, it is 50% -70% lower than that of Raschig ring. The tower height can also be reduced. Using Bao'er ring can reduce the packing volume by about 20% -40% compared to Raschig ring.

Scope of application of Bao'er ring packing:

Suitable for use as contact packing in carbon dioxide degassing towers, ozone contact reaction towers, and other reaction towers. Ball ring packing is an improvement on the Raschig ring. Two rows of rectangular windows are opened on the side wall of the Raschig ring, and one side of the cut ring wall is still connected to the wall surface, while the other side bends inward into the ring, forming an inward extending tongue leaf. The sides of the tongue leaves overlap at the center of the ring. Due to the holes in the ring wall, the utilization efficiency of the space and surface inside the ring is greatly improved, resulting in low airflow resistance and uniform liquid distribution. Compared with Raschig ring, the gas flux of Bao'er ring can be increased by more than 50%, and the mass transfer efficiency can be improved by about 30%. Bao'er ring is a widely used packing material.

Application of Polypropylene Ball Ring in Tannin Extract Method for Desulfurization

A certain factory adopts the tannin extract method for desulfurization. In the desulfurization tower with a diameter of 6000mm, Dg76 polypropylene ball rings with a packing layer height of 3.5m are used instead of the originally designed wooden grid packing. Production practice has proven that polypropylene ball ring packing has the advantages of low resistance, corrosion resistance, resistance to damage, resistance to tower blockage, and high desulfurization and purification degree. The tower has been using this type of packing for N years and its production has been stable and normal. Using this type of filler instead of wooden grid filler can not only save a lot of wood, but also shorten maintenance time by 4/5, greatly reducing labor intensity.

Fluoride absorption

The acid production workshop of a certain fluoride salt plant has achieved good technical and economic results by using polypropylene Bao'er ring fillers. In the past, the acid absorption tower in the factory used wooden grid packing. Due to the crust on the surface of the wooden grid, it needs to be cleaned every three months, and the pressure drop is high, resulting in poor absorption effect. The factory uses Dg50 polypropylene ball ring packing instead of wooden grid packing, reducing the height of the packing bed from 4.8m to 2m and 1.2m. The average tower pressure drop has been reduced from 80mmH2O to 35-40mmH2O. In the past, four 75KW fans were used, but now one 100KW fan is used, saving power consumption.

The absorption efficiency of the tower has also been improved. In the past, the fluorine content in the tail gas at the top of the tower was generally 0.07-0.08g/m3. After renovation, the average fluorine content was 0.0435g/m3, which meets the national emission standards.
