Delta Bay
The Delta flowmeter is a flow sensor designed and generated using the differential pressure working principle and the insertion installation method
Product details
The Delta flowmeter is a flow sensor designed and generated using the differential pressure working principle and an insertion installation method. The pressure measurement method is achieved through a probe (or probe) with a diameter of approximately 20 millimeters, which has two rows of unevenly distributed 8 millimeter pressure holes in front and behind the probe. By averaging the different pressures (/flow rates) of the pipeline from top to bottom (/from left to right) through these two rows of holes, a differential pressure is formed (due to slow flow rates on both sides of the pipeline and fast flow rates in the middle), which can be used to calculate the mass flow rate or volume flow rate.
Scope of Application
1. Nominal pressure: 25mm ≤ DN ≤ 6000mm
2. Nominal pressure: PN ≤ 25MPa
3. Medium temperature: t ≤ 650 ℃
4. Accuracy level: 0.2 level, 0.5 level, 1 level, 1.5 level

detailed introduction

Low pipeline power loss (low pressure loss): The pressure loss of a typical averaging pipe is much smaller than that of an orifice plate, only 5-10% of that of an orifice plate; On the other hand, due to the small pressure loss, there will be a small differential pressure (pressure difference between high and low pressure), which increases the requirements for selecting differential pressure transmitters and costs. Otherwise, the output accuracy of the transmitter will decrease because the range cannot reach full range. So a good probe must take into account both pressure loss and differential pressure. The surface design of Deltaba fully considers this factor. The cross-section itself is symmetrical, and the surface is divided into three parts (as shown in the figure below). The facing part is a smooth section, allowing the probe to smoothly contact the medium; The second part is the acceleration section, which accelerates the flow velocity of the medium by an average of three times, and increases the pressure in the face section by increasing the contact surface with the medium; The third part is the peak of the high and low pressure boundary, where the resistance suddenly disappears and a low pressure zone is formed behind the probe. The actual color velocity spectrum can fully reflect the changes in the medium flow velocity. So, the design of the Delta probe meets the requirements of low pressure loss and high differential pressure.

Delta probe
high precisionAfter third-party testing and according to the latest data, it has been shown that an accuracy of 2% can be achieved even in relatively short straight pipe sections. The straight pipe section with a precision of 1% is much shorter than ordinary products, as shown in the following figure. The repeatability is 0.1%. Due to its low pressure loss and minimal wear on the probe, it can maintain high accuracy for a long time as installed properly.
Low operating cost: Due to the small pressure loss, the power loss in the pipeline is also small. Generally speaking, the operating cost of the averaging tube is only one tenth of that of the orifice plate.
Small installation workloadBecause the sensor operates in a plug-in mode, it has the characteristics of easy installation and simplicity. For most diameters, only a small hole is made in the pipeline. Based on years of installation experience, it takes 5 minutes to open the hole, 20 minutes to weld the probe sleeve, 10 minutes to insert the fixed probe, 5 minutes to install the three valve group, 10 minutes to install the differential pressure transmitter, and 10 minutes to wire. The entire process takes approximately 60 minutes (integrated).
Free choice of integrated/split installation:Delta BayThe probe is a fully integrated probe, whether the measured medium is gas, liquid, or high-temperature superheated steam. The differential pressure probe, temperature and pressure measurement, and differential pressure transmitter can be installed on one probe. There are more than 10 connection methods between the probe and the differential pressure transmitter (to choose from), including a condenser specifically for superheated steam, an elliptical flange for directly connecting the transmitter, and a simple R1/2 "external thread, providing various connections for separate/integrated installation to meet various needs. For superheated steam, most products require separate installation, and users must provide their own condenser and other accessories. And the Detaba, together with the condenser, globe valve or ball valve, are all provided together, which is safe, reliable, simple and feasible, making it a truly integrated probe.
Difficulty in clogging due to large holes: For smoke measurement or gas/liquid measurement with particles, clogging is a concern for most users. Huawei guarantees that if the dust in the medium does not exceed 130mg/m3No maintenance or blowing is required for the probe of Deltaba. From the perspective of fluid mechanics, any shape of wedge in a fluid will experience fluid accumulation at the front end, causing an increase in pressure, and a decrease in pressure behind the wedge. Dust in motion, regardless of how high or low the pressure is, may enter the holes in the wedge. When the fluid is stationary, due to Brownian motion, dust is more likely to enter the wedge-shaped hole. So the problem is not about the pressure level or any cross-section, but about how to make these dust particles come out and not accumulate. Undoubtedly, scheduled blowing is a solution. Our company has conducted extensive research on the distribution and aperture of the holes on the probe. Large aperture (8mm) makes it easy for foreign objects to enter and exit; The upper and lower holes are close to the edge of the probe (pipeline edge), making it difficult for foreign objects to accumulate. A small aperture undoubtedly makes it difficult to enter or exit, and entry is absolute, only a matter of time. The holes of other products are much smaller than those of Valverde Taba.
