The lever micrometer reads the scale line pointed by the cursor and the pointer inside the dial. The main problem observed is inaccurate zero position, and there are two ways to eliminate it.

1. Rotate the "differential cylinder" to the zero position (i.e. the zero line engraved on the differential cylinder coincides with the longitudinal engraved line on the fixed sleeve), and at this time, the "pointer" should rotate perpendicular to the center line of the "movable anvil" and coincide with the zero engraved line on the dial. If it does not coincide, use a screwdriver to rotate the "zero adjustment structure" and rotate the dial zero to coincide.

2. Adjusting the zero position of the "differential cylinder" can be done using the method of adjusting the outer diameter micrometer.

There are three precautions to be taken.
1. The rotation range of the zero mark on the dial is within plus or minus 10 grid marks perpendicular to the centerline of the active anvil. If it exceeds this range, the stability of the indicator is considered to be "out of tolerance".

2. Adjustment method used for "comparative measurement". Namely: Rotate the "differential cylinder" to the "nominal size" of the measured workpiece, and tighten the "locking torque". Place the "gauge block group" (nominal size) between two measuring surfaces, press the "button" a few times, and when the pointer coincides with the zero mark line and stabilizes, the measurement can be carried out.

3. During the measurement process, it is important to regularly check the accuracy of the "zero position". If any errors are found, they should be promptly readjusted.
