What procedures are required for personal printing of books, as follows:

1. Complete the work and input/layout, design the cover, and ensure that the manuscript is neat, clear, and finalized;

2. Contact a publishing house to see if they are willing to publish your book. If willing to publish, the following methods can be used for publication:

(1) If the manuscript is good and the publishing house is willing to underwrite your book, it will be more convenient. You just need to hand over the manuscript to the publishing house, sign the contract, and the responsible editor will contact you.

(2) If there is a certain risk to the sales volume of your book after its publication, the publishing house may require you to underwrite a portion of the books, and you must struggle with how to sell these books. Otherwise, you may have to lose money.

(3) If your manuscript publishing house considers the sales risk to be high and you insist on publishing, they may adopt a cooperative publishing method, which means that after the book is published, you are fully responsible for the sales. The publishing house charges a certain amount of publishing fees.

3. Pay related fees: publication management fee (book number fee), editing fee (some publishers do not charge or include it in the management fee).

4. Entering the publishing stage (usually takes about a month or less if it is a proxy publication); After the review is completed, the publishing house will issue the book number CIP、 Commission printing orders, etc. (some of which have issuance authorization letters).

5. After your manuscript is edited by the responsible editor of the publishing house, in general, the publishing society will contact the printing factory for printing, or you can request to contact the printing factory for printing yourself. The difference here lies in the printing quality and printing cost. Nowadays, most publishing houses adopt a system of responsible editors, and the price of printing work is directly linked to the personal income of responsible editors. Therefore, it is possible that in order to save money, the printing quality of your book may be reduced.

6. If you contact a printing factory for printing yourself, you must pay attention to whether the printing factory you are looking for has the qualifications for book and magazine printing. Only about 5% of printing factories have book and magazine printing licenses, while the other 95% of printing factories can only print non volume printed materials.
