During the grinding process, standard part values are used for measurement, which can be obtained in the zero adjustment program and used as reference values. In this way, there is no need to use standard parts for each diameter to be run in.
The obtained diameter measurement value combines the two values detected by the measuring unit with the position of the incremental photoelectric sensor installed inside the measuring head body. Once each grinding cycle is completed and the programmable diameter thickness is obtained, the system can open the contacts in the safe position (maximum aperture) or optimize the aperture for subsequent diameter values.
To shorten the cycle time, the control unit can optimize the unit clamp arm movement speed according to the processing stage, so that it is the maximum value in the opening and closing action. During the machining process, the closing speed of the unit can be adjusted according to the detected cutting amount to ensure the required contact level between the measuring contact and the part at all times. This also protects the unit from the risk of impact on the interrupted surface.
